Cosmetic Dentistry & Teeth Whitening Perth

Are you embarrassed by your smile? Are your teeth stained, crooked or uneven? Do you have gaps between your teeth? Is your gum line uneven? Aesthetic dentistry may be just what you need to regain your confidence.

Techniques such as crowns, composite fillings and bridges are used to repair and replace teeth. The colour and shapes are carefully matched to your natural teeth so they blend in seamlessly. Our cosmetic dentists at our Perth clinic also offer full mouth reconstructions, porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, and gum augmentations (gum lifts.)

Here at South Street Dental, our team of highly skilled and qualified cosmetic dentists are passionate about delivering the very best level of care possible and are continuously expanding their knowledge in dentistry. Our qualified dentists use the latest techniques and equipment to deliver the best results for beautiful and natural-looking smiles to our patients across Perth. Our approach is always to maximise the use of your natural teeth and minimise the use of invasive/destructive procedures. We can help you understand your options.

We also assess the complete smile, not only teeth. Our dentists are qualified to use Botox and premium fillers to help correct asymmetry and increase confidence.

Things to consider with cosmetic dentistry

The various methods used in aesthetic dentistry may need to be repaired or replaced periodically.

Beware of cheap veneers. Fitting veneers can require the removal of healthy tooth material. Going for priced-too-good-to-be-true veneers can result in long-term damage to your teeth.

Dentists are not supposed to advertise their fees for specific procedures. You should visit a cosmetic dentist for the treatment that is appropriate for you, and not for a specific price.

Be aware of loss-leader campaigns. Some dentists may recoup their costs by up-selling other procedures.

Our Cosmetic Dentistry Services Perth

At South Street Dental, we provide a number of cosmetic dentistry services in Perth. To make an appointment call us today on (08) 9337 7388. You can find out more about each of the services below.

Full Mouth Reconstructions

A full mouth reconstruction involves using a suite of multiple procedures such as dental implants and gum lifts that work together to give you the supreme confidence boost.
We can help you design and plan for the best results. Multiple visits are usually required.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can be used to correct crooked, chipped, uneven teeth; or the gaps between teeth. Veneers can also correct teeth that have tetracycline staining and hyperfluorosis which appear as opaque white specks.
Parts of the affected teeth are removed to accommodate the veneer. The veneer facings are bonded to the prepared teeth.

Before and after using veneers to improve gaps and even out teeth sizes and shapes.

Bridges

A dental bridge can be used to replace one or more missing teeth, replace a partial denture, and stop remaining teeth from shifting positions. Our cosmetic dentists shape and colour artificial teeth to resemble your natural teeth and are fitted onto a “bridge” that is anchored to the natural teeth adjacent to the area missing teeth. There are different types of dental bridges, we can advise you on the best option for you.
Fitting a dental bridge requires the teeth on either side of the affected area to be crowned. The bridge is anchored to these crowns.
See Crowns and Bridges for more information.

Gum Augmentations

A gum segmentation or gum lift is a surgical procedure that changes the shape of the gum tissue or underlying bone structure.
The aim is to give you an even gum line, longer, more symmetrically-looking teeth, or to correct a gummy smile.
Gum augmentations are typically done in-chair for your convenience.

Teeth Whitening

Our cosmetic dentists use the Zoom! 45 Minute In-Chair Tooth Whitening System. The result can be dramatic. There is also a take-home teeth whitening kit alternative.
Teeth whitening is not permanent. The procedure will need to be repeated every few months depending on how quickly your teeth become stained through everyday use.
Existing fillings and restorations may need to be replaced after whitening so as to maintain the colour consistency. Whitening does not affect restorations which would have been coloured to match your teeth prior to the whitening.
Some sensitivity can be expected after each treatment.

Dentures

Every denture is custom fitted to your exact needs.
Impressions are used to get an exact fit with your mouth. In cases where a dental bridge is not feasible, a partial or full denture can be fitted by our dentists to replace missing teeth. Unlike dental bridges, dentures are removable.
Dentures are a proven and cost-effective way to cosmetically restore your smile.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants are the best way to replace one, or multiple missing teeth. Please see our dedicated implant service for more information.

Full mouth rehabilitation using implants - before and after.

Crowns

A crown is a custom-fitted ceramic “cap” that covers an entire tooth.
A crown can be used to protect a badly broken or cracked tooth, to restore the original look of a severely worn tooth, or to replace large fillings. It is also used to protect a tooth after root canal treatments.
At our cosmetic dentistry clinic, we offer single-visit crowns and bridges using the latest CEREC technology. This uses 3D scanning instead of impression material. Your original tooth is scanned prior to preparation. Using this state-of-the-art CEREC technology, we are able to produce a high-precision crown on site in as little as 40 minutes. No more repeat visits or temporary crowns!
See Crowns and Bridges for more information.

Composite Fillings

A composite filling can be used to treat a chipped, broken or decayed tooth, reduce the gap between teeth, or build up a worn tooth. The filled tooth has a colour like natural teeth.
A composite filling is usually placed in a single visit. Any decay is first removed before the tooth is cleansed and then filled with the composite material.
Our dentists can also replace your old silver amalgam with natural-looking composite fillings.
