Single-visit Dental Crowns & Bridges at our Perth Clinic

dental crown can be used to protect a badly broken or cracked tooth, to restore the original look of a severely worn tooth, or to replace large fillings. Leaving a cracked tooth untreated can have deleterious consequences. A crown is also used to protect a tooth after root canal treatment.

dental bridge can be used to replace one or more missing teeth, replace a partial denture, and stop remaining teeth from shifting positions. Artificial teeth that match your natural teeth are fitted onto a “bridge” that is anchored to the teeth adjacent to the area missing teeth.

Our in-house CEREC technology lets us fit most crowns and some types of bridges in a single visit; while-you-wait. More complex crowns and bridges may still need to be fabricated by a dental laboratory, making the process lengthy.

CEREC Benefits

  • Single-visit convenience and comfort. No repeat visits and no repeat anaesthesia.
  • Getting a crown in one sitting also means no more fitting and removing an uncomfortable and temporary looking temporary crowns.
  • Instead of waiting 10 days for a crown to be made in a lab, you wait 40 minutes! Enjoy ‘me time’ as you kick back and surf the web on one of our tablets or enjoy the latest of our magazines.
  • CEREC technology uses 3D scans for high-precision custom-fitted restorations. Scans are done before and after the tooth is prepared to replicate the tooth exactly. No guesswork required.
  • 3D scanning also means no more unpleasant dental impression material.
  • Chair-side scan and mill removes likelihood of any communication errors when dealing with an external lab.
  • CEREC can produce 2- to 3-unit bridges from a single ceramic block for greater strength.

What You Need to Know About CEREC Dental Crowns in Perth

If you’re wanting a single-visit dental crown at our Perth clinic using CEREC, there are some things you need to know prior. CEREC single-visit dental crowns and bridges may not be suitable for everyone. Some larger crowns and complex bridges may still need to be done in the conventional way requiring at least two visits. We can help you understand the options.

Unlike some practitioners who also offer CEREC technology, we actually have the CEREC machine in our clinic. This means a 40-minute wait for you, instead of their two-visits-in-a-day service.

Not all dental labs are the same! You need to know where you crowns and bridges are made. The location of the lab (local or overseas) does not automatically guarantee a quality outcome. At South Street Dental, we use Australian-registered dental labs who operate in authority-approved premises, staffed by qualified technicians and who use Therapeutic Goods Administration-standard materials, giving you peace of mind in knowing exactly where your dental crowns and bridges in Perth are made.
