Complete teeth replacement (such as All-on-4), is a complex, highly precise and customised process. There are also as many treatment and cost options as there are variables in each individual. Let us show you what we can do, with a Smile Test Drive.
All-on-4 treatment cost differ based on your unique requirements. Generally there are two components that make up the total cost – the implants and surgery, and the type of final bridge you choose for your new teeth.
Begin with the baseline price for 4 implants, surgery and temporary tooth bridge at $17,000 per jaw; then add on the cost of your chosen final tooth bridge (example below)
1) for titanium reinforced acrylic teeth, $8,500 per arch
2) for titanium reinforced milled zirconia teeth, $13,000 per arch
We take pride in being transparent with our pricing and what it includes during our discussions. You will always understand what you are paying for and the reason for it.

The ‘All-on-4’ dental implant technique offer a revolutionary way to leverage more value from lesser amount of implants, with shorter overall downtime. The phrase ‘all-on-four’ is a reference to using (typically) four titanium implants to which a dental bridge is secured. Sometimes 5 or 6 is necessary for this technique. This method is particularly beneficial for individuals who have lost most or all of their teeth and are looking for a permanent, fixed solution instead of removable dentures.
Benefits include improved stability, comfort, clearer speech, improved ability to chew and taste (as the palate is not covered), better oral health, increased confidence, with no risk of misplacing them. The key benefit above all, is that implants help prevent further loss of jaw and facial bone.
Dental implants are designed to mimic the function of natural teeth. They are surgically placed into the jawbone, providing the necessary stimulation (pressure and movement) for the body to maintain bone density at the site. This means that in addition to restoring your smile, the implants themselves help preserve your jawbone and overall facial aesthetics.
Remember “Australia’s funniest home videos” where people blow out birthday candles along with their dentures? It’s not actually funny. The phenomenon is called facial collapse, with the jawbone thinning out over the years causing dentures to progressively feel and become loose.
Choosing implants not only improves your ability to eat and speak comfortably but also contributes to better mental health. Regaining control in this situation is a proactive approach to maintaining your smile and preventing future dental issues. If you’re considering a solution for missing teeth, dental implants present a compelling alternative to traditional dentures.
The term “cost effective” is a reference to value. When considering full teeth replacement, All-on-4 is cost-effective over the only other option (dentures). This technique is also cheaper than replacing lost teeth with individual implants over time. It probably costs the same as having to continually replace lost/misplaced/damaged dentures. Dentures don’t stop the thinning of your jawbone so a new set would have to be made every few years. Regaining all teeth on 4 or 5 implants in one surgical session, with one recovery phase, make the initial investment worthwhile for long term and life changing benefits.
Once integrated, with proper care and regular oral hygiene maintenance, titanium implants can last in your jaw indefinitely. Depending on the material and how you care for them, the prosthetic teeth bridge will require repair or replacement from around 10-15 years.
The cost of All-on-4 dental implants currently advertised can range anywhere between $16,000 to over $30,000, causing confusion. The numbers do not allow for comparison when it’s not clear what it is that forms the price (nor what is left out). We have a more detailed article on understanding the cost of All-on-4 treatment in Perth. Please note this is a very basic guide which may help you compare a procedure that has many parts. It does not take into consideration and of course, may be subject to change.
Overall, from the initial consultation to the fitting of the final bridge, the ‘all-on-4’ treatment can take 6 to 9 months, depending on individual healing rates or adjunct procedures such as bone grafting.
In additional to digital x rays and OPG, we use specialised CT and Cone Beam CT scans for all our implant cases. Coupled with the latest iTero 3D oral surface scanner and the latest planning software, we re-create an exact virtual representation of your whole jaw, teeth, gums and bite.
This is the surgical part of your treatment. Dr Chan will place the titanium implants that will support your new tooth bridge. Timewise, this takes approx. 2.5hrs per jaw, plus 2-3 hours recovery. Typically four dental implants are placed but if you have soft bone you may need an extra implant (Dr Chan will not charge you for this extra implant).
A temporary bridge is attached, so you can have a functional and aesthetically pleasing set of teeth immediately after the implant surgery. This means you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence all through your healing phase.
This also protects the surgical site and provides a gentle load on the implants, aiding the initial healing process.
After 4-6 months of healing, we will confirm implant integration with more scans. A final digital impression of the implants placed in your jaw and gums. The lab will perfect your final bridge based on the resulting measurements. Bone and soft tissue move and swell during healing, so this important step will ensure biting forces will distributed optimally and the final fit is precise and comfortable.
Final checks to confirm fit, aftercare and even more smiling until the next appointment.
During the healing phase, your jaw and gums will undergo changes. This remodelling of the jawbone is a natural and anticipated response to the implant surgery. As a result, the temporary tooth bridge fitted after your surgery may not fit as snugly or comfortably once healing is complete. An ill-fitting bridge can impede your ability to speak, eat, and maintain oral health, increasing the risk of All-on-4 complications. It can also create gaps between your gums and the bridge where food can become trapped. Hence we only recommend the two bridge approach to our all-on-4 treatment. We only fit your final tooth bridge once your jaw and gums have fully healed, ensuring your new teeth fit perfectly.
We have written a material and price comparison on all-on-4 bridge options in a separate article [link here]. Please note this is a guide only for a highly customised product. It is subject to change at the discretion of the lab however we will do our best to reflect the pricing trends. It is not intended for the purpose of ‘price fixing’ nor do we claim to.
After dental implant surgery, the jawbone will soften around the implants due to the rebuilding process called osseointegration. It’s crucial to attach a tooth bridge to the implants within the first few days of implantation while the bone is still firm. As well as offering protection to the surgery site, the pressure applied to the implants help encourage the bone rebuilding process. It also means you are able to eat and return to your daily routine with a smile.
No, however they are designed to be removed, but only by your dentist. Your tooth bridge may need to be removed every few years for maintenance or further modifications.
The ‘all-on-4’ technique is designed to work for patients with some degree of bone loss, as it uses the denser bone at the front of the jaw. Dr Chan is also able to perform bone grafting to the site prior to placement.
Post-surgery, Initial recovery usually takes a few days to a week (but complete healing and osseointegration can take 4 – 6 months)
You may eat soft foods on the day after the procedure, whenever you feel up to it, but nothing hot. Most patients are advised to follow a soft diet for a few weeks before gradually returning to a normal diet. Avoid prolonged chewing, sugary, sticky or tough foods. It’s important to follow our strict cleaning protocol following any surgical procedure.
Care involves regular brushing and flossing, along with routine dental check-ups, much like caring for natural teeth. Any changes to lifestyle or habits can still affect gum and oral health, please do not smoke.
Although dental implants have a high success rate, there’s a chance they may not integrate properly with the jawbone, leading to failure. Surgical risks include infection, nerve damage, prolonged bleeding or excessive swelling. Initially, some patients might experience difficulty in speaking or chewing as they adjust to the new implants.
Your cheeks may hurt from smiling too much.
